We believe everyone should be treated fairly and that they are entitled to work in an environment which respects their personal dignity and is free from harassment, victimisation and bullying. Everyone is valued irrespective of gender, race, nationality, religion, disability, age, sexual orientation, employment status, or membership/non membership of a trade union.
No one is to receive less favourable treatment on any of the above grounds or is to be disadvantaged by requirements, conditions or practices which cannot be shown to be justifiable.
Harassment, victimisation and bullying are harmful to everyone. It can subject individuals to fear, stress and anxiety, putting strains on work, personal and family life. It can lead to illness, accidents, performance problems and people leaving the company. It has an adverse effect on safety, organisation effectiveness and business success. It brings the business into disrepute and may lead to a prosecution of the business and individual concerned. |

The standards of behaviour required of our employees whilst at work also cover their interaction and relationships with employees of other companies and members of the public.
We will seek to establish a working environment free from harassment, bullying and victimisation. Any act of discrimination, harassment, bullying or breach of this policy will be treated very seriously and we reserve the right to investigate and take immediate action to resolve any issues arising. This may result in disciplinary action being taken. In addition to personally acting within this policy, we also expect that our employees will ensure those they work with are also abiding by it. Where they believe there is any breach by a colleague they are obliged to raise this matter as outlined within the procedures of this policy.
Our Equality and Diversity Policy is aimed at ensuring the fair treatment of all people at work. It intends to put standards in place which will prevent all forms of unfair treatment, harassment, bullying, offensive, unfair and unacceptable behaviour, whether or not such behaviour is unlawful. |
